The magnitude of my gratitude
Is almost overwhelming:
A jittery jubilee wherein
I’m Like a leaping salmon
In a season of spawning.
No matter the current,
No matter the voracious obstacle,
I will bask in this miracle:
I surge with a Spirit inside,
Seeped in flesh and revealed in the tide.
I know my direction
And the One in whom I reside;
No longer a guppy
With mindless mouth gaping wide.
Have I had rocky barriers?
Sure, but the greatest of them was my pride.
And to wrestle with that
Is a necessity to get me to strive
For better,
For purpose,
For whatever His will provides.
So my smile is purer than
The past sins which I can’t hide
From Him.
