Dwell in the Well

Upright in heart,

Draw strength from the wells of salvation,

From the wellness overflowing from Him:

The wells that spring up in the desert

Even though on the surface

is endless sand;

The wells that whisper it is well

Though screaming pain from within;

The welling of tears both in sorrow and joy,

Knowing both soothe the envoy.

Sip or immerse in the uplifting upwelling

Which gradually rise from the tide,

Or suddenly bid farewell

to what was cast aside:

The swelling of pride is not a desired well,

But plunging in His will

Fortifies the soul to dwell most well.

“With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation” (Isaiah 12:3)
