Loving Your Enemies

So you feel like a victim of lies?
The web is spinning toward your demise?
And you think it’s unfair
To hang in the air
While your torturers stare
In your eyes?
They seem to enjoy the kill
Like a wolf pack upon the sheep;
Cleverly they lure like innocent play
Only to maul and devour the meat.
But if the sheep stays
Near the staff of the shepherd,
The enemy is at a loss.
Though harm was intended
And possible scars apprehended,
The shepherd saves the cost.
Loving his sheep,
He’ll fight the wolves
And usher his sheep to higher ground.
The staff gently directs
Or woefully corrects the proud.
Do not be haughty as the Jekylls;
They’re evil on the prowl.
Your time is coming-
You’re witnessing it now.
It’s always alarming When you’re staring Satan down.
But remember,
it’s not against the flesh you wrestle,
It’s not what you view.
It’s Lucifer behind their struggle;
He is the reason they’re blind to the Truth.
But the truth sets you free!
The Bible promises so.
In Christ, you have victory!
So see the opposition as an opportunity;
God’s calling you out of misery.
Pray for those in perilous plight
Who seek to destroy you;
It’s because they don’t live in the light,
And the devil in them knows that you do.
So Keep being the love of Jesus Christ,
Even as they weave their lies
Because you’re heading where the shepherd leads
And He has great plans for your life!
He delights in the prosperity of his servants
And you’ve served Him well,
But these foes are vicious because they’re living in hell.
So love them and keep praying
So that maybe their souls can be saved.
But they’ve connived to get you out?
Well, “Praise God!” Is what you should say!
A crucifixion must happen:
Flesh must pay.
Because God has divine appointments,
And there’s parts of you that can’t stay.
There’s a character within
That you’re closer to see
Each time you’re persecuted for the glory of the King!
Blessed are you
And woe to them.
So again, out of His love,
Do not offend.
Pay no evil with sin.
Do what the Lord says.
Follow the Holy Spirit’s direction,
And when you leave
(Because you certainly can’t stay here),
Do not look back at the lost
Lest you suffer a greater cost
And miss your destiny, which is ever so near!
